J-Doll Gran Vía: bonding problems
I celebrated my 28th birthday on the 5th of May, now barely a week ago, and I had asked my boyfriend for a J-Doll, 'Gran Vía'. I had completely fallen in love with her photos online. He finally agreed and I did all I could to have it delivered on my birthday.

But the thing is... when Gran Vía arrived, I immediately realized she wasn't as great as I had hoped. I mean, she's pretty and all, but I don't FEEL her. She doesn't inspire me to make her clothes and photograph her. I can't get much out of her. There was no *click*. I thought there might be one later and I waited... but it didn't come.

This was really hard to admit to myself, because I'd gotten her as a gift from my boyfriend and she was so expensive and I'd whined about her to him for a day... but just now I gathered all my courage to tell him that I don't love her as much as I thought I would, and he actually understands. Which is REALLY nice. I think I'll try selling her nude now and my boyfriend agreed that I could go out and get another Obitsu and Little Pullip to make myself another hybrid... because I completely fell in love with those, just like I thought I would..!

Blah. I just had to get that off my chest.

Here's the lady in question, in my LJ for the first and last time, 'Michele' as I renamed her:

sorry that you didn't love your J-doll as much as you thought you would. although, that was nice of your boyfriend to say you could get another doll. ^_^

Don't feel bad, these things happen sometimes. Some dolls just don't "click" the way you think they will. She's a pretty girl, just not right for you. :-) I'm sure she'll make someone else very happy, and you'll be happy because you'll have more money for another doll you'll like better.

She was the one Jdoll I thought I was super crazy about too, but I've been collecting Pullips so long that when I looked at her head, I thought...it's just too small...ha!

That's how it goes so often in this hobby when we don't necessarily get to see the doll before we buy. I'm glad your boyfriend was supportive! That makes it a hundred times nicer =)

Thanks for the comments guys. It was really hard to tell him, but I wish I'd done it sooner because I'd been feeling so bad about it.. when he really understood and was very sweet. I didn't know what to expect :P So I was scared :P
