My collection keeps on growing now that the dolls I bought on eBay are starting to arrive...

I'm not sure how many I have now... I should count them..! Let's see...
Oh my... I think I now have exactly 30 Polly Pocket dolls... With many more on the way..!

So here are some pictures of my latest acquired dolls :)

And last but not least: a picture of all the rooted hair girls I own so far :). I love that they're all unique!

Now, let me first tell you: I did not make Ellie these pants. I was supposed to, when my mom came over this afternoon to teach me how to use my sewing machine, but once I showed her the legging pattern my Ellowyne Wilde friend gave me once (we widened it a little bit), she started working and didn't stop. She enjoyed herself so much that she wouldn't let me help. Lol! Once the jegging was done she finally showed me how to use the sewing machine, hahahaha. Oh, and the best part: when her boss called, she proudly told him she was making doll clothes with her daughter :D and she squeed like a little girl when I showed her Ellie's sneakers. I think my mom is starting to like my hobby.

.... But I'm still not telling her how much Ellie cost me and that she was actually an extremely good deal at $130! XD

Ellie can almost come outside with me for pictures! She does still need a coat though, which will be hard for a sewing noobie like me. My mom had a great tip in that department too: just make her a poncho. Easy peasy!

I love my mom <3

Okay... so I started cutting away the hair on one of my seven blonde-ponytail-girls, because I wanted to make my own wigs for her - when my X-acto knife broke.

In the pictures below you can see how far I got. It required quite a bit of elbow grease; the hard plastic wigs are glued on pretty well!

So, today I went out to get some new X-acto knives - and some Fimo clay! But when I returned back home with my new buys, my boyfriend appeared to have cut away all of the plastic hair on my Polly..! So, I found a bald Polly on our sofa...

This is where the fun part started for me: making Polly some new wigs!

Find out if I'm any good at it under the cut...Collapse )

Omake: I made a stupid mistake. Here I was thinking all my 20 Pollys had the same face. Wrong. They're a mixed bunch of series 3 and series 4 Pollys. You can see the difference in the picture below. On the left you can see what I believe to be a series 3 Polly, on the left a series 4 doll. Woops.

... or even triple! Lol!

Today, 15 more Polly Pocket dolls arrived at my house. One of them, the one with the blonde rooted hair, I bought second hand from a lady who was selling her with her house. I had seen her in stores and loved her, but buying the house and spending €15 (and before she was on sale she was over €30) was a bit much. Fortunately, this woman was willing to sell me just the little blonde doll :).

Six others are second hand dolls as well, and the other eight I bought from an online shop. Yes, there are some doubles there, but hey, they were €1 per doll! In stores they go for at least €5 a piece...

I don't know what's gotten into me but I love dressing these tiny dolls in their silly rubber clothes. It makes me really happy when I'm looking at them afterwards, too. Oh, I bought a cheap game yesterday that consists of 36 tiny chairs that need to be piled up untill they fall over, but hey, they're Polly size!! At some point I could build a Polly Pocket classroom diorama... Hmmmm. ;)

Enough talking, onto the pictures. My 15 new dolls all in a row in the first three pictures, and what follows is three pictures of the 15 new girls redressed :). You must think I've gone crazy... Well... You're right. I have soooo many more Polly dolls on the way...........

Since about a week, I have started buying Polly Pocket dolls in stores and online like crazy. I'm not sure what caused my new obsession, but I do know what contributed: I have always liked them, but this week I found out they're disappearing from toystores in the Netherlands (oh no!!) and hence they're sold for insanely good prices at most stores (yay!!).

I'm waiting for about 25-30 dolls I ordered online, both new and second hand (yeah... someone tie me up, lol... I've gone mad) and I have five dolls at home so far. One of them, the redhead with the rooted fiber hair, I've had since May 2011. She's starring in an old photostory that I also posted here back then. The other four I bought today.

I feel like a little kid when I'm redressing them in their silly rubber clothes. I think they are SO adorable. So if anyone's got them for sale... Let me know!!! (They must be from this series, with the big eyes and the knock-knees.)

The dolls and accessories I own so far:

After redressing them:

I love them so much. Aren't they the cutest? Can't wait to get the rest!!

Oops, I did it again.

I am having two brand new BJD girls made at their factories at the moment (Asleep Eidolon Blueberry and Only-Doll RuoDie), but I still can't stop myself from looking at the Den of Angels marketplace daily. It helped me get Ellie and now I have found my second victim: Mya, a Lati Blue Cara. She arrived with me from Sweden a few days ago. I think she's lovely, but I had to get used to the head size difference: Ellie's head suddenly seemed extremely big!

She also seemed to have yellowed more than I expected, but I figured out that my Ellie is just extremely white; Mya has the normal skintone.

I'm actually also kinda happy with Mya's small head, because I finally found a use for a 6/7 Monique wig I had lying around. It fits her perfectly :).

Right after I did Mya's faceup, I gave her dark brown eyes, but I exchanged them for some deep green Hujoo Cats eyes, because the brown eyes were just too big and too dark. I quite like big irises and little amounts of eyewhites on my dolls, but the brown eyes were a bit much...

So, yeah: meet Mya! :) (And as you can see Ellie and I *totally* got over the head size difference: they look like they'll be best friends :))

So, yeah, what the title says! I love the look of the mohair she had but I can't really handle or style it very well... so I bought her a new one. I think it's very cute, with or without the braid :D

Other news: I have received my second BJD, a second hand Lati Blue Cara from the DoA marketplace, AND I have a little 11cm Obitsu that I'm completely fond of even though she doesn't have eyes yet, buuuuut.... I will post about those sweet sweet girls in 2012 :). Happy new year in advance, I probably won't be online during the fireworks!!! ;) Best wishes everyone!

Okay, so in my previous post I wrote about falling out of love with my dolls and I've taken a big step... I have sold my Pullips Noelle (Neo Noir) and Natalie (Suiseiseki) and my 60cm Obitsu girls Sosha (Gretel) and Eva (Joshua). My Pullips went to a girl in my home country (The Netherlands), my big vinyl ladies went to Misheru and Highlander, an Obitsu-loving couple in the States whom I know from several doll forums. I'm happy to have found my dolls good homes.

Goodbye, girls <3

And about my resin fever... I bought a second hand Lati Blue Cara that was shipped to me from Sweden today (technically yesterday since it's after midnight here, hehe)! Can't wait!! I hope she'll make a good friend for my Ellie (Angell-Studio Leira).

Speaking of Ellie: I bought some cheap boys' underwear just for the cute smiley fabric and I made my dear Ellie a simple shirt:

She still needs some pants and a coat before I can take her outside... Winter has officially come :)

I realize I've been MIA for a while again over here... I'm going through a bit of an identity crisis when it comes to dolls. About a month ago I took the plunge: I wanted to go for a resin BJD. My boyfriend ordered an Asleep Eidolon Blueberry MSD girl for me as a gift for Christmas and our 3-year anniversay at once. I saw a Blueberry in real life at Dutch Dolliverse in June and I fell in love, so when my boyfriend bought her for me I couldn't be happier. She's still in the making, but I can't wait for her to get here!!

A few days after we ordered her, I found a second hand Angell-Studio Leira on the Den of Angels Marketplace. She was only $130 AND available in Europe (Austria), so I immedialy pm-ed the seller and sealed the deal. She was now officially what my Blueberry should have been, haha: my very first resin ABJD. And I am SO happy I got her. I re-did her faceup, bought her a mohair wig and named her Ellie. I also made her a simple but cute dress and I'm working on a second outfit.

I LOVE Ellie. No problems there. But she made me realize I don't love my big Obitsu girls anymore. I don't love my Pullips anymore. I've got the worst case of resin fever: I only want more resin girls from now on... I'm already looking for a third...
